Every college football team is having a busy recruiting season this offseason. Landing the right talent through the transfer portal for the 2025 season is already tough. Meanwhile, recruiting elite prospects for the 2026 class adds even more pressure.

One wrong move, and a team could miss out on top talent like Cederian Morgan. That’s why Deion Sanders is leaving no room for error. His focus this weekend is sharp and intentional, making sure Colorado gains an early edge in the race to secure the five-star wide receiver’s commitment.

Cederian Morgan Headlines Official Visit Weekend

Cederian Morgan, a five-star wide receiver, plays for Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City, Alabama. He’s ranked No. 48 overall in the ESPN300 rankings for the 2026 class. According to 247Sports, he’s also the No. 1 player in Alabama, the No. 2 wide receiver nationally, and the 10th overall recruit.

Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 200 pounds, he has gained fame as a natural playmaker. He knows how to make big plays, whether winning jump balls or beating corners deep. In his junior season alone, he racked up 70 catches, 1,162 receiving yards, and 14 touchdowns, proving he’s a top-tier prospect.

Morgan has received approximately 25 scholarship offers from elite programs such as Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Clemson, and Colorado. But his upcoming official visit to Colorado is creating a buzz across the college football world.

Morgan will head to Boulder this weekend for his first of six official visits. Thereafter, he’ll visit Georgia (May 16–18), Clemson (May 30–June 1), Florida (June 6–8), Auburn (June 13–15), and Alabama (June 19–22).

It’s no secret that Alabama is currently seen as the favorite to land him. However, Colorado still has a significant chance of making a strong impression before Morgan hits the rest of his visit trail. And it seems like the wideout is open to being wowed. “I’m looking forward to meeting their coaching staff and feeling their energy,” Morgan said. “They are sitting as one of the tops in my recruitment.”

Coach Deion Sanders is no stranger to the recruiting game. Known as “Coach Prime,” he has greatly impacted college football and the Colorado Buffaloes. If, by chance, Colorado fails to make a strong impression on the five-star wide receiver, it could be Coach Sanders himself who could change the young star’s final decision of commitment.
