Carter Meadows, one of Penn State’s top targets for the Class of 2026 recruiting class, has sent shockwaves through the Penn State recruiting plans. He did so with his latest tweet, including his visit with Bill Belichick and UNC.
Penn State head coach James Franklin has developed a reputation for locking down his recruits early. In doing so, Franklin creates loyal classes that rarely waver. Meadows was a top priority for Franklin and Penn State, and his visit with UNC could have changed that.
Carter Meadows Sends Shockwaves Through Penn State’s Recruiting Plans With Bill Belichick’s Entry
With visits underway for Meadows, it’s to be expected that some teams will try to, and maybe even successfully, sway him to choose their school. UNC did just that with his visit to their school, and they seemingly left quite the impression on Meadows.

The five-star edge rusher Meadows just dropped a big update on his UNC visit. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound player from D.C. posted on Twitter, showing love to the Tar Heels, and in doing so, he wrote the following:
“I want to thank Head Coach Bill Belichick and the entire UNC staff for a great visit this past weekend!”
Meadows also gave a special shout-out to LB Coach Bob Diaco for his interest. It looks like UNC’s pitch is hitting home, and Belichick’s vision is working. Under Belichick’s tutelage, he plans to bring UNC back to its former glory and put it back on the map of college football.
Belichick is simply put, making Chapel Hill a place where all of the top prospects want to go too, and Meadows fits that mold perfectly. Meadows also has offers from Michigan, Georgia, LSU, and so much more.
The Nittany Lions still maintain a great relationship with Meadows, thanks in large part to Franklin and their DL coach, Deion Barnes. However, when a powerhouse like Belichick steps in, the whole story and outcome could very well change.

Belichick is known as one of the greatest minds in football history, and it’s very easy to see why. He was, and still is, one of the greatest coaches in NFL history. Seeing him at the college level entices many potential future football greats.
Nobody knows Meadows’ next move, and for now, it certainly remains a mystery. However, one thing we do know for sure is that Meadows is gaining offers from many of the best in college football. The race is truly wide open.
