Jackson Cantwell, the No. 1 overall 2026 prospect according to 247Sports Composite, announces his college commitment Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. ET, following a long recruitment filled with attention from many of the country’s powerhouse programs.
While it is largely believed he will decide on the Georgia Bulldogs, he’s also entertaining offers from Miami, Oregon, and Ohio State. With the offensive tackle hours away from his announcement, how is UGA making one final push to get the lineman?

Georgia Makes Final Push for OT Jackson Cantwell After Key Visit
On3’s Josh Newberg dove into the waves that five-star 2026 OL recruit Jackson Cantwell will create when he makes his decision on Tuesday.
Cantwell, who projects as a can’t-miss blocking prospect, owns over 30 offers. He stands just over 6’7″, tips the scale at 325 pounds, and is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 overall player nationally.
“Jackson Cantwell has a big decision coming down, and, of course, his decision is gonna impact who finishes No. 1 overall because if Georgia lands him, that’s two No. 1 players at their position within an eight-day stretch,” Newberg said Monday.
“Oregon, they really need him if they’re gonna get back into the No. 1 spot. The Ducks had been holding on to No. 1 before USC jumped them. Now, Georgia is pressing, Ohio State’s pressing, you’ve got Miami ready to make a move. So, this decision is gonna factor into who ends up No. 1 overall — not just who lands No. 1 overall,” he continued.
Cantwell has visited Georgia more than any other school and recently joined Bulldogs quarterback commit Jared Curtis, the second-ranked player in the crop, on a stop there.
“(Curtis) was in town, he was recruiting Jackson Cantwell,” Newberg said. “I mean, why not? Who doesn’t want a 6’8″, 305-pound offensive tackle protecting his blindside when he arrives?”
247Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks put together a scouting report on Cantwell on Saturday, comparing him to longtime NFL OL Robert Gallery.
“Tall, big-framed offensive tackle prospect with a stellar athletic profile and pedigree who’s an advanced mover at this stage of development,” Brooks wrote. “Quick off the ball and flashes hand violence and (point-of-attack) power.”
“Bounce in his step and plays with active feet. Capable bender who gets hips involved. Further ahead as a run blocker than in pass protection, but displays encouraging footwork in the latter with immense potential in that category.”

Cantwell is also a Missouri state champion in shot put and discus. He was the 2024 Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year, totaling an incredible 158 pancake blocks for the season.
Brooks summarized him as a “high-major multi-year starter with outstanding physical tools and athletic/genetic profile that suggest long-term early-round NFL Draft potential.”
Other highly-touted offensive tackles in Cantwell’s class include Immanuel Iheanacho, Felix Ojo, Kodi Greene, and Kevin Brown. Greene is committed to Washington and Brown pledged to Penn State.
