‘Whatever NFL Team Takes Me Is Getting A Gem’ — Cam Skattebo’s NFL Draft Hype Begins

Cam Skattebo is not shy about his abilities -- and after a dominant showing in the Big 12 Championship Game -- why should he be?

Let it be known, if you were watching or reading CFN content when we first began, you heard or know about Arizona State Sun Devils RB Cam Skattebo. And if you didn’t know who he was before the Big 12 Championship Game, you know now.

The MVP of the Big 12 title game has drummed up enough hype this season, but now he’s stated his intentions for after his college career is over.

‘I’m the Best Running Back In the Country’ — Cam Skattebo Sounds Off

No one is denying the fact that Skattebo is incredibly talented. In fact, you could make the argument — after his dominant showing against Iowa State — that Skattebo is absolutely in the conversation for best running back in the country.

In a season without the potentially historic output from Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty, Skattebo may even be the rightful owner of the title ‘best RB in America.’

And in front of the national audience during the Big 12 Championship Game, he showcased his full skill set against the Cyclones as well.

Whether it was his contact balance:

Or just simply his ability to make people miss:

Skattebo was in rare form against Iowa State.

When all was said and done, Skattebo ran for 170 yards on 16 carries with two touchdowns to go along with two catches for 38 yards and a score. Oh, and he also threw the ball, as he’s been prone to do all his career.

That’s right, his pass attempt in the Big 12 Championship Game was no fluke. Skattebo has thrown the ball 18 times in his career, notably running the offense as their wildcat quarterback down the stretch in 2023.

He put himself on the map with his play at Sacramento State but supplemented that with his flashes a season ago. However, after rushing for over 1,500 yards and over 20 total touchdowns in 2024, it’s safe to say that Skattebo should likely be a Heisman finalist and potential Day 2 NFL Draft pick.

And he’ll let you know that as well, just like he did following the game.

“Nobody respects the fact that I’m the best running back in the country,” Skattebo said. “I’m going to stand on that. Whatever NFL team takes me is going to get a gem.”

With at least one more game to play in the College Football Playoffs, trust me when I tell you that you do not want to miss Skattebo in action.
