Brian Bohannon’s Salary and Contract in 2024

Bohannon’s salary at Kennesaw State in 2024 is unknown after he signed a three-year contract extension in 2022. Regardless of how much he commands under his most recent deal, the Owls head coach is arguably worth every dollar after instilling success in the program since its inception.

Bohannon’s most recent salary figures are from 2022 when he made $390,550.

A relatively new name on the college football scene, Bohannon has been head coach of the Owls since the team was founded in 2013, and Kennesaw State joined the Big South Conference at the FCS level in 2015.

Since then, the Georgia program has won three conference titles, and Bohannon has been named Big South Coach of the Year twice.

Bohannon has made Kennesaw State a powerhouse under his leadership with a 71-30 record.

In 2022, Kennesaw State moved to the ASUN Conference, and Bohannon was granted a contract extension in February 2022, making his deal run through to 2026.

Speaking after the contract extensions, Director of Athletics Milton Overton said, “Coach Bohannon has done an outstanding job starting, building, and sustaining a championship-caliber football program.”

Bohannon also spoke about how honored he is to lead the football team into a new era. “I am proud to continue building on the culture and winning tradition we have established here at Kennesaw State,” the Owls head coach shared.

“I look forward to seeing the ongoing impact Kennesaw State University is making for students and our community.”

Securing the services of Bohannon for the immediate future was a big deal for the ascending program, and Kennesaw State Interim President Kat Schwaig shared why they were so keen to tie their head coach down.

“His commitment to our student-athletes, the community, and the university has been critical to the continued success of the program,” Schwaig made public.

Moving forward, Kennesaw State accepted an invite to join the Conference USA in October 2022, a move up to the FCS level for the Owls. It meant that they sat as an FCS independent in 2023 before officially becoming an FBS program in July 2024.

While they will remain ineligible for bowl appearances until 2026 due to rules stating that there needs to be a two-year waiting period when teams move to the FCS, Bohannon is sure to continue KSU on their upward trajectory.

Bohannon’s Net Worth

While Bohannon’s net worth is unknown, he has earned every dime by creating a competitive program at Kennesaw State.

His job with the Owls is Bohannon’s first as a head coach after he spent several years as a positions coach at various schools.

Bohannon started as an assistant at West Georgia in 1994 before becoming coordinator a wide receivers coach at Gardner-Webb and Georgia Southern in the 1990s.
