Bill Belichick Displays Coaching Prowess with Blueprint for the ‘33rd NFL Team’ Before 2025 College Football Debut

Belichick recently chatted with ESPN about the current culture at North Carolina and what he is trying to accomplish there.

“Everything we do, it’s a pro model…We want the players to develop professionally to their maximum football level.”

This came in response to Belichick calling the Tar Heels the “33rd NFL team.”

The repeated Super Bowl winner also mentioned how he wants to prepare his players for life outside of football, and part of that includes excelling in the classroom.

Bill Belichick Looking to Bring North Carolina Back

Simply put, the Tar Heels have been a basketball school for the longest time. For reference, the team has had just one season with 10 or more wins (2015) since the 1997 season. The program is also looking to win its first-ever national title, but it can’t do that without excelling in conference play.

Once again, for reference, the team has won six or more conference games just twice in the last 25 years.

It will be up to Belichick to change the game and bring that winning mentality that he and the Patriots had for two decades to Chapel Hill. The ACC is likely going to be an interesting conference this season. Teams such as Clemson, SMU, Miami, and even Syracuse could be dangerous in 2025.

Each of these teams won 10 or more games last season, with the first two making it to the College Football Playoff.

Miami also struck gold in the transfer portal, bringing in former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck to replace the Tennessee Titans’ recently drafted No. 1 overall pick, Cam Ward.
