Skip Bayless Calls Out Kyle Whittingham’s “Full of Himself” Attitude During 53-7 Win Over Deion Sanders’ Colorado

Deion Sanders saw one of the worst losses he has seen so far in his college coaching career on Saturday against the Utah Utes, which ended in a 53-7 loss for the Colorado Buffaloes.

The entire Colorado team was seen struggling during the game. Their quarterback, Kaidon Salter, was unable to put points on the board and got sacked five times in total.

Recalling Dan Lanning’s halftime speech during the Oregon-Colorado showdown in 2023 to hype his team to end Sanders and company’s “Cinderella story,” Skip Bayless assumed Utes’ head coach Kyle Whittingham to have a similar attitude during Saturday’s matchup.

“I believe that Saturday night Kyle Whittingham was right out of the same mold because he’s been there now for 22 years at Utah. And I just think deep down he’s like, ‘Watch this, Deion. I’m going to put you in your place because I tweeted late in the first half. Is it possible to be accused of running up the score before halftime?’ Because they’re calling timeouts,” Bayless said (8:58).

“They interviewed coach Whittingham coming off the field and I don’t remember anything he said except he was really full of himself. He was just like, ‘We can’t play any better than we played in this game so far and now we got to do it again.’ Blah blah blah. But Deion is an easy target for a lot of coaches who just say, ‘No, we don’t do it that way. We’re going to show you.’ So, I think that’s a show you kind of game where he’s going to run it up in the first half on Deion Sanders. That’s just me,” he added.

Deion Sanders Weighs In on the Current Head Coaches Firing Havoc in CFB

As the college football head coaching world becomes increasingly unsettled with the firing of new coaches every week, it raises the question of whether programs are growing less patient in the current era of the game.

Some of the most notable decisions include those of James Franklin at Penn State, Billy Napier at Florida, and, most recently, Brian Kelly at LSU.

Talking about the situation, Deion Sanders told the press that everybody wants a quick fix right now and nobody has the patience in this world, citing examples of people’s habit of ordering pizzas and using BBL pads.

Colorado is set to face the Arizona Wildcats in Week 10 at Folsom Field.
