Armand Membou Mysteriously Absent from Senior Bowl Practice, Raising Questions

After a strong first day of practice Missouri OT prospect Armand Membou was mysteriously absent from Wednesday's practice, raising questions.

Missouri offensive tackle prospect Armand Membou had a solid first day of Senior Bowl practice. But when the American team took the field Wednesday afternoon, the mammoth right tackle was nowhere to be seen. Where is Membou and why was he out?

Missouri OT Armand Membou Mysteriously Absent from Senior Bowl Practice

Within a few minutes, reports began to come in that Membou would “not be participating” in Wednesday’s Senior Bowl practice. However, no further details were provided. Even ESPN insider Matt Miller’s tweet was short and to the point.

Membou performed well on Day 1 of Senior Bowl practices, turning heads with his impressive pass protection in one-on-one reps. However, it looks like his week could be over.

Speculation has run wild, with some suggesting he’s sick or dealing with a minor injury. Others were a bit more skeptical, with one Twitter user suggesting “the Titans told him to shut it down.”

That seems to be a reference to reports surfacing that the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and New York Giants told presumed top 10 pick Shedeur Sanders not to practice at the Shrine Bowl, a report the Browns have vehemently denied.

While participation in all-star events has become a hot topic, there’s not indication so far that Membou simply chose to sit out.

For one, his draft stock isn’t set in stone. While Mel Kiper has Membou solidly in the first round, going to the Seattle Seahawks at No. 18, that doesn’t seem to be the consensus.

In my last mock, I left Membou out of the first round. That being said, the lingering size concerns seem to be put to rest, as he measured well at the Senior Bowl.

Whatever the reason, Membou’s status for the rest of the week remains unknown. He was having a strong start, so here’s to hoping he returns Thursday.
