Sam Leavitt Earns Rave Review Ahead of 2025 Season

Sam Leavitt’s impact is undeniable heading into the 2025 season. His 29 total touchdowns and over 3,200 yards of total offense solidify him as a top Heisman contender. So, there’s nothing drastically new to say about him. If he can stay healthy, Arizona State has a real shot at dominating the Big 12 again.

So, understandably, he will continue to draw attention from major sports figures. Recently, FOX Sports analyst Brian Baldinger praised his arm strength and ability to deliver under pressure while reviewing his skill set.

“Watching Arizona State getting ready for the draft, Kam Skattebo. I kept watching Sam Levitt, because he would climb the pocket like this and then just naturally just whip it and whip it good going to his left right there,” Baldinger said in a video posted on X.

After transferring from Michigan State, Leavitt had a breakout year in 2024, guiding the Sun Devils to the Big 12 title and a participation in the College Football Playoffs.

Baldinger highlighted Leavitt’s ability to stay composed under pressure, recalling a moment against Iowa State where he took a hard hit but still launched a perfect 50-yard throw.

“Then you watch him get chased and run, and he’s gotta make a throw similar to that on a dead run. And you go, Sam Levitt has got a whip, and he knows how to use it,” Baldinger added.

Beyond his passing ability, Leavitt has shown mobility, recording 443 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns. His ability to extend plays, fire passes on the run, and execute read-option plays makes him one of the most exciting quarterbacks to watch this season.

Arizona State enters 2025 as a top contender, with Leavitt expected to deliver several crucial moments in their pursuit of another Big 12 title.

And let’s not forget that his performance in a 24-14 win over Kansas State, where he threw three touchdowns, helped Arizona State break into the AP Top 25 rankings.
