Arch Manning’s Texas Dealt Last-Minute Blow Ahead Of Lone Star Showdown

The Texas Longhorns, led by the likes of Arch Manning among others, will be playing their next regular-season game without one of their key cogs in play. On Friday, Nov. 28, Manning and the rest of coach Steve Sarkisian‘s 2025 Longhorns are taking on coach Mike Elko’s Texas A&M Aggies, who are one of their rivals, for Week 14 of this year’s college football season on their home pitch, the DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas.

Unfortunately for Manning and company, however, they will have to play their final regular-season matchup without the services of their standout linebacker, Anthony Hill. As reported by collegiate football analyst Pete Thamel on X/Twitter, Hill is confirmed to be out for the game against the Aggies, as he was listed as a game-time decision before it. This means Hill’s next appearance, if ever, will likely come in postseason play.

As it stands, it has since been reported everywhere that Hill is suffering from a hand injury that he sustained in the Longhorns’ 15-point loss, 25-10, at the hands of the Georgia Bulldogs back on Week 12 on Nov. 15. The junior did eventually come back to finish the aforementioned game, but it may have been for naught as Texas did eventually lose and he had to sit out their next fixture against the South Carolina Gamecocks in Week 13.

Hill is currently in his third year of college football in the 2025 campaign, through which he has spent it all with the Texas-based program. The Denton, Texas native has since been handed the keys to the Longhorns’ defense with his outstanding physicality and scoring stoppage, which is a factor as to why he and his team have had a couple of deep postseason runs with him rostered into the lineup.

The 2025 Texas Longhorns Head Into The Final Week Of The Regular Season As The SEC’s Fifth Seed

Going into the Lone Star showdown against the Texas A&M Aggies, the 2025 Texas Longhorns are currently ranked as the No. 5 overall seed in the SEC with an 8-3 record (5-2 SEC).

They are fresh off a 15-point triumph over the South Carolina Gamecocks, 52-37, back on Nov. 22 as they are aiming to close out the regular season strong with another win, this time against their state rivals, in the hopes of winning it all this year.
