This college football offseason, some programs are going beyond their usual training routines. While players continue to work with coaches and coordinators, a few teams are stepping up by adding pro-level workouts to prepare for the new 12-team playoff format.
One standout example is Alabama. Recently, their quarterback, Austin Mack shared photos of himself and his teammates working out alongside several Las Vegas Raiders veterans. As soon as fans saw this glimpse, they were overwhelmed by the team’s dedication level.

Alabama QB Austin Mack Trains with Raiders Stars
You wouldn’t be wrong to say that Alabama Crimson Tide players are making the most of this offseason. Mack and several of his teammates are getting NFL-level training from Raiders stars—a move that could be a game-changer for their development.
A single glimpse of their workout, recently shared by Mack, showed how Alabama’s QB1 competition is becoming even more intriguing. The Washington transfer is taking every chance to improve his skills and prepare for the battle ahead.
But Mack wasn’t alone in getting special attention from NFL veterans. Alongside several Alabama teammates, the 6’6″, 236-pound quarterback was seen training with Las Vegas Raiders players, including Jakobi Meyers, Dont’e Thornton, and Geno Smith.
With Coach Kalen DeBoer still deciding on a starting quarterback, this kind of offseason work matters more than ever. Alabama’s signal-callers are clearly all in, leaving no stone unturned as they sharpen their game. Every rep, every throw could decide who wins the job.
Ty Simpson, Keelon Russell, and others, along with Mack, are already setting a new standard with this prep session. Training alongside NFL professionals raises the bar, and as fall camp approaches, this level of effort could be what separates the good from the great.
For Coach DeBoer, the Vegas workout adds fresh energy to the QB competition. Mack’s connection with NFL talent shows a strong commitment to growth, and with the season approaching, every throw at practice will be under the spotlight.
