Alabama’s Credentials Questioned by Fans as Georgia Achieve SEC Glory

The 2025 SEC championship game got underway on Saturday, and the losing team is facing significant criticism from fans all over social media. On Saturday, Dec. 6, coach Kalen DeBoer‘s Alabama Crimson Tide went up against coach Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs for the winner-take-all game of their conference on the latter’s home pitch, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

Unfortunately for coach DeBoer’s Alabama team and their faithful, they were beaten by the Bulldogs by a staggering 21 points, 28-7, as coach Smart’s team is the top team coming out of the SEC this season. The Crimson Tide struggled throughout the game, as Georgia had a 21-0 lead heading into the final period. As a last-ditch effort, Alabama went for naught in the fourth quarter, 7-7.

College football fans online questioned the Crimson Tide’s credibility as a whole, especially since they are presumably out of this year’s postseason play.

“Alabama ain’t a playoff team💀🥀,” one user said with a couple of emojis.

“Alabama is not a playoff [team]. Pathetic performance,” another user claimed.

”Bama plays there way out of the BCS playoffs. Another DeBoer Disaster Class 😂😂,” another shared with two emojis.

“Bama is 💯 out and ND and Miami are in! Book it,” a user wrote with an emoji.

Other X users simply offered their take on Alabama, criticizing their lapses and miscues as a team overall.

“Congratulations to The Dawgs…while the Bama offense looked awful, over half of that was due to the Georgia defense…well done,’ one user explained.

“But somehow ESPN will continue their slob-knob fest of Bama,” another user pointed out.

“10-3 does not qualify for CFP. Sorry Bama. Go cry to Paul F,” a user posted.

Both the Bulldogs and the Crimson Tide await their fate in the 2025 college football playoffs, with more focus being given to the former as they won their conference’s title. The Bulldogs have earned the right to call themselves the best team in the SEC this year. Along with their title berth, they finished the regular season with an overall record of 11-1 (7-1 SEC).

The Alabama Crimson Tide Beat The Georgia Bulldogs Earlier In The 2025 Regular Season

What makes the Georgia Bulldogs’ drubbing of the Alabama Crimson Tide more impressive is that they were previously defeated by Alabama in the 2025 regular season.

In September of this year, the two teams faced each other for Week 4 of the campaign, where the Crimson Tide came out on top by a mere three points, 24-21. Alabama finished its regular campaign with an overall record of 9-3 (7-1 SEC).
