NFL Insider Reveals Deion Sanders and Shedeur Sanders Made His Day
NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reveals how Deion and Shedeur Sanders made his day with a personal combine news drop when speaking on the Pat McAfee show.
Rapoport originally broke the story on Shedeur choosing not to throw at this year’s NFL Combine, a tweet that received heavy backlash due to its wording.
#Colorado QB and potential top pick Shedeur Sanders plans to focus on his interviews with teams at the NFL Scouting Combine, helping them continue to learn him as a person.

How Deion and Shedeur Made Rapoport’s Day.
Talking about how he originally got the information behind Shedeur’s decision, Rapoport explained how it works when trying to speak to Shedeur Sanders’s “agent.”
“So, the lead up to the combine, I was trying to figure out what Shedeur is gonna do, so I contact somebody who’s kind of works with the Sanders family, and I ask, who’s the point man, who’s the agent?” the NFL insider began.
“Coach will contact you personally” was the response Rapoport received, much to his confusion upon realizing the “coach” being referred to was Prime Time Deion Sanders himself.
Immediately following that, while sitting in the car with his children, Rap Sheet received a FaceTime call from a number he didn’t recognize: Deion Sanders.
“I answer it, it’s Deion Sanders, which was fun because I had my kids in the car, and they got a kick out of me being called by Deion Sanders, but anyway, so he’s like, what do you need, I’m like, I wanna know what Shedeur’s doing,” the NFL senior insider broke down the story, which had one last twist.
“So he gives the phone to Shedeur, and he said, talk to Rap Sheet, and so we talked, told me what he was doing, explained the plan, talked about a couple of other things, and hands the phone back to his dad.”
Rapoport then continued to discuss how unbelievably mature he found the quarterback’s response to be and how strange it felt.
“And it was just an unbelievably mature, level-headed way of dealing with what could have been such a big issue, but Deion wanted to make sure Shedeur handled it himself, so like, whatever comes at him, this is somehow who’s prepared to deal with all of it, I was very impressed,” Rapoport finished his story.
Shedeur’s level-headedness and confidence have always been some of his best traits and a testament to how well he’s been taught by his father, reflecting on his interview during Colorado’s Pro Day.

“There’s pressure when I wake up in the morning, so you know, there’s no added pressure anywhere in my life,” Sanders explained during his Pro Day interview.
The first day of the NFL Draft, on which ESPN projects Shedeur Sanders to be drafted, takes place on April 24.
