Deion Sanders just received a five-year, $54 million contract extension from the Colorado Buffaloes, making him the fourth highest-paid coach in college football.
While Sanders has had a successful coaching career, he was first an elite NFL cornerback and also had a career in the MLB. So, just how much money has Coach Prime made over the course of his entire career?

Deion Sanders’ Career Earnings
In 1999, Deion Sanders was drafted in the first round out of Florida State. In his NFL career, Sanders played for the Falcons, Cowboys, 49ers, Commanders, and Ravens. He signed seven different contracts, earning him a total of $43,817,999.
While Sanders had a long career in the NFL, he also played in the MLB for nine seasons. Over the course of those nine years, Sanders played for the Yankees, Braves, and Reds, signing four different contracts that totaled $13,288,347.
Sanders earned over $55 million in his athletic career alone, making him one of the highest-paid athletes of all time.
In 2020, Sanders signed a four-year contract worth $1.2 million to become the head coach of Jackson State University. In just three seasons, Sanders made Jackson State the best team in the SWAC, winning back-to-back conference championships.
His success at Jackson State was enough for a power four school to take a chance on him, and in 2023, Sanders signed a five-year deal worth $29.5 million to become the next coach of the Colorado Buffaloes.
Sanders, once again, turned around a program, and in 2024, the Buffs had their best season since 2016, going 9-4 and making a bowl game for the first time in five seasons.
