Texas Shows Their Newcomers First 2 Months on Campus

Texas Football posted a video on social media under the series “Fresh on the Forty.” The video gave insight into Texas’ winter workouts for newcomers and how the new players are adjusting to life in Austin.

The winter and spring football periods are crucial for teams to get their rosters settled and players on the right track physically. There is no one better at doing so than Texas’ Director of Football Performance, Torre Becton.

Becton has been the Director of Football Performance for Texas since 2021 and has been a key factor in developing young players. Becton started coaching for the Washington Huskies in 2013 and has a background in sports medicine and coaching.

Graceson Littleton, a freshman defensive back, highlighted what makes Becton so great at his job, saying, “What I like most about coach Becton is how even though there’s a lot of us there, he’s very personalized with each and every one of us. Him and the staff do a great job of taking our errors and during them into good positive outcomes.”

Becton also brings a fire that makes his players want to compete and get better at every part of their jobs.

“Coach Becton, I’ll say he’s one of the most intense coaches we have here, the way he drives me and just how he’s so precise on the technique on everything,” freshman offensive lineman Nick Brooks said.
