Hugh Freeze’s Statement Regarding Cancer Diagnosis
Freeze, 55, has been working for Auburn as a coach since 2023. The good news is that his cancer was detected at an early stage and is curable.

Auburn further released a statement shedding light on Freeze’s condition:
“Recently, Coach Freeze was diagnosed with an early form of prostate cancer. Thankfully, it was detected early, and his doctors have advised that it is very treatable and curable. He will continue his normal coaching duties and responsibilities, and with forthcoming proper treatment, he is expected to make a full recovery.
“Coach Freeze is incredibly appreciative of our medical professionals and has asked that we use his experience as a reminder of the importance of prioritizing and scheduling annual health screenings.”
Furthermore, Auburn also added a post on Instagram, saying, “The Auburn Family is with you, Coach Freeze.”
His daughter, Ragan Freeze Reynolds, shared that post, adding, “My hero.”

Furthermore, regarding Auburn’s 2025 recruiting class after the early signing period in December, Freeze shared his excitement.
“I’m really excited,” Freeze said. “This is a good day for us. Today is one of those days where the first emotion you probably feel is relief, and excitement is the next one.
“It looks like we’ll finish with another top-10 class, one of the top in the SEC. I’ve been very clear since my arrival that I thought it would take three Top 10 classes in a row to get to where it’s apples to apples. Let’s get these guys here and continue to change our roster.”
