Alabama wide receiver Jalen Hale is back healthy and making an impact in spring practice after missing the 2024 season with a significant knee injury.

Jalen Hale Turning Heads in Spring Practice
Hale, a former four-star prospect from Texas, is determined to compensate for lost time, playing with great confidence and impressing his teammates. Alabama safety Brayson Hubbard spoke highly of Hale’s performance during a media session on Friday.
“I like Jalen Hale,” Hubbard said. “He got hurt last year, but he’s balling right now. He’s doing a great job. He’s locked in, and the whole receiver room is attacking, even with some guys dealing with injuries.”
As a true freshman, Hale played in 13 games, recording 148 yards and one touchdown on five receptions. While those numbers may not stand out, making an impact as a freshman at Alabama is a strong sign of potential—especially under legendary coach Nick Saban at the time.
Alabama’s co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, Nick Sheridan, emphasized the significance of having Hale back on the field.
“It’s just been great to have him back out there,” Sheridan said Friday. “Everything he’s been through—the perseverance, the grit, the toughness. The kid loves football. He’s had a big smile, and his presence has uplifted everyone around him. We’re just thankful he’s back with us.”
Hale’s Return Makes Alabama’s Receiving Room Stronger
JaMarcus Shephard, the current wide receiver coach, is highly regarded by both the team and fans. However, it was rumored that he faced challenges connecting with receivers who remained from Nick Saban’s era, a struggle briefly highlighted in the Fox Nation documentary.
After the season, Alabama made significant changes to the expansive receiver room. Kobe Prentice, Caleb Odom, Kendrick Law, Emmanuel Henderson, Jaren Hamilton, and Amari Jefferson all transferred out.
The receivers who stayed, including Ryan Williams, Germaine Bernard, Cole Adams, Rico Scott, Bubba Hampton, and Jalen Hale, have helped strengthen the group. Hale’s return only adds to the depth and talent of an already-stacked receiving corps.

In addition, Alabama landed an impact No. 3 option at wide receiver in Miami (FL)’s Isaiah Horton through the Transfer Portal. They also brought in two freshmen, Lotzier Brooks and Derek Meadows, who will compete for playing time immediately.
With Hale’s return, Alabama’s expansive receiver room is poised to be even more dynamic this season. His confidence, determination, and impact on the field will be key as the Crimson Tide build on their impressive depth. Hale’s story of resilience and continued growth as a player only adds to the excitement surrounding Alabama football this spring.
