College football analyst Gerry Hamilton has acknowledged that Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning has some new confidence to him this offseason.
While discussing the upcoming Longhorns college football season on the popular “On Texas Football” YouTube channel with CJ Vogel, Hamilton detailed how Manning has shown strong leadership skills this offseason, something evident in his latest interviews and training.

Gerry Hamilton’s Arch Manning Assessment
Manning is expected to take over as the starting quarterback of the Longhorns after 2024 season QB Quinn Ewers declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.
The nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, as well as the grandson of Archie Manning, Arch comes from a long line of successful QB’s and will be one of the most intriguing and exciting players in college football next year.
Hamilton outlined how he expects Manning to be one of the leaders of the Longhorns offensive unit next year.
“When you step into a leadership role, and he’s fiery, and you’re going to see a lot of emotion out of him, he has got a little, one of his Red Bull commercials, has got some swag to him.
“Right, so that comes out in your leadership, right, and there’s different ways to lead, even vocally, but he’s had a while to sit back, and really, you know he’s the first guy in the facility, right CJ, he studies these guys, he’s studying everything from a professional level, to be ready to be the starting quarterback at Texas.”
Will Manning Succeed Next Year at Texas?
Manning has all the attributes and skills to succeed at both the college and NFL level. He is extremely accurate, has a strong arm, and is calm and composed in the pocket. Manning is also quite mobile and is able to throw off platform as well. The combination of these traits allow Manning to make almost any throw needed on the football field and in any situation of the game.
Despite not being eligible for the 2025 NFL Draft, Manning was selected No. 3 overall by the New York Giants in College Sports Network’s recent All-Eligible Mock Draft.

As James Fragoza highlights in his assessment of Manning, “Texas’ future looks bright, with Arch Manning waiting in the wings. Manning impressed in limited action this season, throwing for 939 yards and nine touchdowns while showcasing his dual-threat ability with four rushing scores.
“As he steps into the starting role next year, Manning will instantly join the Heisman conversation and elevate the Longhorns’ offensive ceiling to new heights — why not do the same for his uncle’s longtime franchise?”
