The Oregon Ducks have enjoyed back-to-back seasons with Heisman-contending quarterbacks Dillon Gabriel and Bo Nix. Now, college football analysts believe Dante Moore could be next in line to elevate Oregon’s offense.

CFB Analyst Praise Dante Moore’s Potential to Transform Oregon’s Offense
247Sports’ Brandon Huffman sees Moore as a step up from Gabriel, predicting that he will take Oregon to “another level” in 2025.
Huffman joined John Canzano’s radio show on Wednesday to discuss Oregon’s 2025 outlook. He emphasized that Moore, a former five-star recruit, has the tools to surpass Gabriel’s production from last season.
Gabriel threw for 4,006 total yards and 37 touchdowns while leading the Ducks to a 13-0 regular season, but Huffman believes Moore’s skill set is even stronger.
“The pressure wasn’t on him to be the guy (this year). That kind of allowed him to step back, and I think he’s more than ready,” Huffman said. “He’s a more talented passer and really a better athlete than Dillon Gabriel, and I think that he’s going to take that offense to another level.”

Oregon’s offense was already elite in 2024, averaging 36.9 points per game. Improving on that won’t be easy, but the coaching staff has full confidence in Moore. Huffman noted that the Ducks never pursued a transfer quarterback because they were so high on his potential. Now, as the presumed starter, Moore will have the chance to prove them right.
Is Dante Moore a Potential Heisman Contender?
Moore’s talent has already earned national attention. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, he is tied for ninth in early Heisman odds at +2000, sitting alongside South Carolina’s LaNorris Sellers and just behind Ohio State’s Julian Sayin. If Moore delivers, he could follow in the footsteps of Nix and Gabriel, who were Heisman finalists in the last two seasons.
His teammates have expressed strong belief in his abilities. Star receiver Evan Stewart and incoming freshman Dakorien Moore have voiced their support on social media. Departing wideout Tez Johnson was even more confident, stating at Rose Bowl media day, “He’s going to be a Heisman finalist next year.”
