How Dawn Staley Celebrated the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Win

South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Dawn Staley was understandably elated as the Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LIX on Sunday night. The Eagles won their second Super Bowl in eight years after beating the Kansas City Chiefs in a one-sided affair.

The game was a rematch of their matchup in the 2023 Super Bowl, which the Chiefs won. However, Sunday night’s win was sweet revenge for the Eagles, stopping the Chiefs from making history.

Dawn Staley Shares Her Excitement After the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Win

Following the Eagles’ win, Staley, who was born in Philly, took to her Instagram account to celebrate her team’s win.

She shared multiple Eagles-related posts on her Instagram account. In one of those posts, Staley was seen wearing an oversized Eagles cap and an Eagles hoodie with the caption: “@philadelphiaeagles RING US! IT’S OVER! Play with QB1 if you want to! @JalenHurts thank you.”

In another post, Staley celebrated by dancing following the game with the caption, “WE ARE THE 2025 SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS!!.”

Staley had been vocal about the Eagles’ chances even before the opening kickoff. The 54-year-old coach had assured her fellow Eagles fans that the team would triumph.

“My Eagles fans, we got this one. Now, get mad if we fumble the ball. Get mad if they score on us. Just remember—when the clock strikes zero, we will be winners,” Staley said days before the showpiece.

However, while the Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX victory gave Staley joy, it was not a good day for her at the office, as her South Carolina squad lost to the Texas Longhorns on Feb. 9.

The Gamecocks lost by four points as the Longhorns claimed a 66-62 victory at Moody Center. Madison Booker was the star for the Longhorns, dropping 20 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists.

Meanwhile, MiLaysia Fulwiley was the best player on an average shooting night for the Gamecocks, recording 13 points, three assists, and two rebounds.

The Gamecocks’ loss came after they beat the Georgia Bulldogs 74-42 on Feb. 7. But despite the defeat, Staley’s team is still second in the overall rankings this season with a record of 22-2.

Staley and her team can bounce back from the defeat when they take on the Florida Gators on Feb. 13.
