Dillon Gabriel Explains How it Feels Being the Shortest QB in the 2025 NFL Draft

Despite being the shortest QB in the 2025 NFL Draft at 5'11", former Oregon Ducks signal-caller Dillon Gabriel shows the performance and leadership to make him a promising prospect.

Dillon Gabriel was great in the 2024 season, throwing for 3,857 yards, 30 touchdowns, and six interceptions. The Oregon Ducks quarterback was also a great leader who helped the team make the College Football Playoffs.

Heading into the 2025 NFL Draft, Gabriel may not be the tallest QB prospect, but he did show and talk about who he is at the 2025 Senior Bowl for the National Team.

Dillon Gabriel Showed Who He Is at the Senior Bowl

Gabriel completed 4-of-6 passes for 28 yards in the 2025 Senior Bowl and also threw a two-point conversion to Elijah Arroyo. Despite all the efforts, his National Team lost 22-19 against the American Team.

The former Ducks signal-caller, who is the shortest quarterback in the 2025 draft class at 5’11”, addressed this issue in a sideline interview with the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

“I feel like I just want to find the right fit,” Gabriel told Pelissero. “Someone who doesn’t give a rip about [my height], you know, and just wants a winner, wants a baller. So I think that’ll be perfect for me, finding the right fit in that way and good alignment so that, you know, we’re not talking about it.”

“Yeah, it’s been, you know, difficult at times, but all positive in terms of, you know, getting around new people and learning new stories and all about them,” he continued. “But you know, there are growing pains with that, and we just have fun while doing it.”

Gabriel seems to be exceedingly confident in his gameplay and experience, and nothing can stop him from leveling up. He knows what he is capable of and is always ready to push his limits to show the best within him and prove to everyone that he is one of the best quarterbacks.

Gabriel’s Potential in the 2025 NFL Draft

There’s no doubt that Gabriel has a real chance to become a starting NFL quarterback, but the questions about his height are a legitimate concern.

Still, his production and experience speaks for itself. Gabriel started 63 college games and won 73% of them.

Gabriel also shared what he is doing to get ready for the upcoming NFL draft in a few months.

“Yeah, Grandon and Huntington Beach with 3D QB, just getting that work in and then, you know, got the combine ahead in Pro Day, so attacking that, and then we’ll see where, you know, life takes us,” Gabriel shared.

With the draft still over two months away, most pundits ultimately believe Gabriel will be a Day 2 selection.
