Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers waited until deadline day as he mulled over his college football future, but ultimately announced his decision to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. Unsurprisingly, there was a flurry of reaction from the world of college football across social media.
Quinn Ewers Declares for the NFL Draft.
The talented Texas quarterback announced his decision to declare for the NFL Draft via social media on Jan. 15 after the Longhorns’ semi-final loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Ewers finished his Texas career as the third most prolific passer in program history, leading the Longhorns to back-to-back College Football Playoff appearances.
Ewers’ decision sparked controversy on social media with many fans believing he should have taken the Carson Beck route and transferred somewhere rather than turning professional.
Ewers has a third to fourth-round grade on him from many college scouts and don’t expect him to be a top pick. While that could all change with his combine and pro-day performances, the question must be asked: Did Ewers make the right decision?
