On Saturday, the Miami Hurricanes and Iowa State Cyclones put on an offensive clinic during the Pop Tart Bowl in Orlando. As such, the defenses were set to take it on the chin with the two humming offenses.
Little did they know they meant ‘take it on the chin’ literally when Miami players were caught fighting on the sidelines.

Early in the second quarter, both offenses continued humming with Iowa State scoring touchdowns on their first four possessions. As you would expect, Miami defenders had grown irate.
Both against the Cyclones and apparently against one another.
ABC cameras caught this altercation between defensive linemen Simeon Barrow Jr. and Marquise Lightfoot.

Also, as you’d expect, the fans of both Miami and non-Miami fans let these two have it.
One user gave the clearest indicator of how fighting each other during a bowl game really seems to the public.
Awful look. I’ll never understand how anyone wants to play there.

Another user then indicated that, given they’re in the Pop Tart Bowl, maybe they were fighting over which Pop Tart flavor was best.
They was arguing about if Brown Sugar better than the S’mores one. 🤦🏾♀️😭

There was even the take that perhaps one of them took the other’s Pop Tart.
Whats up with that ? All over who took the last pop tart at the pregame meal ?

While others had some more poignant takes.
These takes, of course, were directed at the Miami program itself. One user stated simply, ‘Thats Miami lol,’ while another said, ‘Embarrassing program.’
A few even went after the culture of the program following this episode.
Mario building a great culture in south beach, I see

Others actually went to actual analysis following the fight.

No matter which way you slice this one, it’s not a good look for the program, nor for the defense that struggled in the final eight quarters of the 2024 season. Or, in reality, most of the year at Miami.
