Which Teams Play in the Mountain West?
Despite all the buzz around college football realignment in recent seasons, the Mountain West has remained steadfast, staying true to its core identity. While they haven’t entirely ignored the idea of adding new teams, the conference’s core 12 teams have remained unchanged.
However, in 2024, the Mountain West made a significant move, announcing it would amend its schedule to include the now-defunct Pac-12’s Oregon State and Washington State. With this change, the conference reshaped its schedules to welcome the Cougars and Beavers, boosting the overall strength of schedule and adding depth to its football lineup.
