Have you ever wondered just how good your favorite team’s victories actually are? You feel it in the moment. You know in your heart that certain victories mean more than others.

For all too long, there has never been a way to quantify such a feeling. Until now. Introducing College Football Network’s Strength of Victory metric for the 2024 season.

Every Team’s Strength of Victory in 2024

Found below is the strength of victory for all 134 teams across the country. But before you view, get acquainted with how we got to this number. Getting to a whole number was easy, once we mapped out how each team had fared in 2024 to date.

This is an evolving number that changed from week to week, but is now locked into each team’s victories, losses, and total games played from the 2024 season.

Essentially, here’s how we got to this figure.

First, we took every team’s victory and averaged that out with how impressive it was based on CFN’s exclusive power rankings and proprietary simulation data that analyzed how good a team is and performed for the 2024 season. We then found the same number for each team’s losses this season (obviously, for any undefeated teams, we found our way around factoring any losses as they don’t have any).

With a bit more nuance after that, we looked at it on a per-game basis and came up to our findings below. Basically, if your favorite team beat a team that has since won every game afterward, that’s a great win. If your favorite team lost to a team that has lost every other game this season, well, that’s a really bad loss.
