There will be more significant tests for the Ducks this season in the Big Ten than their season-opener against FCS Idaho, and the fact they didn’t pull clear of the Vandals until late in the game has had an impact on Gabriel’s Heisman Trophy odds. Despite a slump to +800, his ability to connect at a high level and throw for nearly 400 passing yards should be a consistent theme in 2024.

His Heisman Trophy odds dropped from +800 to +900 following college football Week 1, somewhat surprisingly given a solid 278 yards and two touchdown outing against a stellar Clemson defense.
