Led By Harold Perkins Jr. and Will Campbell, 4 LSU Tigers Players Receive CFN All-American Honors

The LSU Tigers return for the 2024 college football season with four All-Americans from a team that went 9-3 in 2023.

With the advent of the 2024 college football season upon us, College Football Network has released its preseason All-American list, with four LSU Tigers players being recognized. Which athletes were recognized for their abilities as the 2024 season embarks? Let’s give it a look!

Which LSU Players Earned CFN All-American Honors?

LSU returns for the 2024 season with four All-Americans from the CFN Preseason Honors list, three of which are on the offensive side of the football for a team that went 9-3 in the second year of Brian Kelly’s tenure in Baton Rouge.

Will Campbell headlines the list, as he garnered honors as both a first-team All-American selection and was picked as preseason Offensive Tackle of the Year. Campbell was also selected as preseason SEC Offensive Tackle and Offensive Lineman of the Year in addition to being a first-team All-SEC honoree.

Harold Perkins Jr. returns for his junior season with high expectations, which helped him to land on the first-team All-American list nationally. His SEC preseason accolades include Linebacker of the Year and first-team All-Defense.

Emery Jones Jr. was a third-team selection at the tackle position for the Tigers. He also landed on the second-team All-Offense preseason SEC list.

Garrett Dellinger rounds out what could be one of the best offensive lines in college football. He was selected as an All-American Honorable Mention nationally and second-team All-SEC for the preseason via CFN.

This is what CFN Executive Director Cam Mellor had to say about the All-American qualifiers from LSU.

Offensive Tackle of the Year: Will Campbell, OT

They don’t make ’em much better than Campbell regarding stalwart protectors on the left side. At 6’6″ and 320 pounds, Campbell packs a punch with his size, but his nimble footwork and solid foundation surely have NFL Draft scouts drooling.

But stay away NFL, Campbell is ours for at least this season. And you better be watching when he takes the field in 2024.

Campbell has put forth two dominant years at LSU, paving the way as one of the most technically refined linemen in the country while also presenting as one of the strongest and athletic big men in the game.

    Linebacker: Harold Perkins Jr., LB

With speed for days, it took a bit of time for Perkins to get used to his role as an off-ball linebacker in 2023. However, once the position took, he looked like a man possessed. And the gifts that Perkins possesses are elite.

As fast as they come, Perkins also showcased his ridiculous instincts down the stretch of the 2023 season. Sniffing out rushing lanes before coming downhill with a vengeance was the tip of the iceberg to him rounding out his skills a season ago.

A year later, Perkins is ready to put forth yet another dominant display in 2024 for the Tigers. He’s a tackling machine with perhaps the best set of athletic gifts at the linebacker position in 2024.
