With the 2024 college football campaign on our doorstep, another season is already upon us. It’s one that sets the table for the feast we’re about to consume, preparing us for the top players we will witness in action these coming fall Saturdays. That’s right, its award watch list season, and on Thursday this week the Wuerffel Trophy watch list was released.
Which Players Are on the 2024 Wuerffel Trophy Watch List?
The Wuerffel Trophy has been honoring the college football player who best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement since 2005. Named after Florida Gators legend Danny Wuerffel, the award is unique in college football. Recent winners include Dillan Gibbons, Drue Tranquill, and Tim Tebow, but which players headline the student-athletes earmarked for appreciation this fall?
Out of the over 10,000 college football players at the FBS level, just 100 student-athletes find their name on the Wuerffel Trophy watch list. Some of the most recognizable names on the list include LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell, North Carolina outside linebacker Kaimon Rucker, and USC multi-position weapon Zachariah Branch.
