“Travis [Hunter] Is Easy” — Shilo Sanders Snubs Ex-Colorado Star to Name Toughest WR on Deion Sanders’ Team

Former Colorado Buffaloes star safety Shilo Sanders is getting ready to start his NFL career. After not getting selected in the 2025 NFL draft, he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has been working hard this offseason to ensure he earns a roster spot later in the summer.

On Wednesday, Sanders posted a video to his YouTube channel with clips from his latest training session. In the video, Sanders’ training partner asked him who the toughest receiver to guard while playing for Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes was, other than Travis Hunter. Shilo responded with a cheeky joke about his former teammate.

“Travis is easy,” Shilo Sanders said. “I’m just playing. me and Travis only do one-on-ones like once, maybe. We never really went against each other like that. But I would say nobody, bro. Nobody was hard work.” (3:50)

When pressed to give an answer, Sanders eventually admitted that he liked going up against LaJohntay Wester in one-on-ones. Wester was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL draft.

“Say I do one-on-ones. I always want to go against LaJohntay because if you can guard LeJohntay, you can guard anyone.”

Shilo Sanders’ training partner then asked him if Wester and Jimmy Horn Jr. were similar in their playing styles.

“LaJohntay is a little smaller and it’s it’s going to be harder to guard someone smaller. So, you just got to, say if you getting a lot of moves on the line, got to put hands on. One of my strengths is I have really strong hands. So if I get hands on you, it’s over. So I just have to use my feet and stay in front of someone to get hands on them, then it’s done. But I don’t know, bro. It’s Colorado, fam you know how our receivers were. Everyone was good.”

Deion Sanders Plans To Visit Shilo Sanders in Tampa

A lot of the Sanders family was together last season in Colorado, but this year they are going their different ways. Shilo and Shedeur Sanders are starting their NFL careers in Tampa and Cleveland, respectively, and Deion is staying in Colorado.

While they will be apart during the season, Deion Sanders will visit his sons during NFL training camp. He will first travel to Tampa to watch Shilo Sanders at the Buccaneers’ training camp and is then planning to fly to Cleveland to watch Shedeur.
