“It Be Your Own Kids Sometimes” — Fans React to Shedeur Sanders’ Cheeky Take on Deion Sanders’ Weight Loss Amid Health Concerns

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has been going through some health issues lately. Although he has not specified what those issues are, it kept him away from the annual football camps in early June. Additionally, in his public appearances since, Coach Prime is visibly skinnier than he was at the end of the 2024 football season.

On Thursday, Deion Sanders posted a video on his Instagram account of him speaking with comedian and musician Lil Duval. In the video, Sanders referenced a funny conversation he had with his son, Shedeur Sanders.

“Y’all know what I’m going through, what I’m dealing with,” Deion Sanders said. “I was FaceTiming Shedeur and he said I look like Lil Duval.”

Deion Sanders Did Not Reveal the Nature of His Health Issues at Big 12 Media Days Last Week

Deion Sanders was forced to miss the annual Colorado football camps in June because he was in Texas dealing with an unspecified health issue. As a result, his first official public appearance following this health scare came at the Big 12 media days in early July. Sanders was visibly skinnier than he was earlier in the year but appeared to be in good spirits. However, he did not reveal what his health problems were.

“I’m looking good, I’m living lovely,” Sanders said. “God has truly blessed me. Not a care in the world, not a want or desire in the world.”

Coach Prime has dealt with various health issues in recent years. Most notably, he has battled blood clotting problems for a long time. In 2021, he was forced to have two toes on his left foot amputated. He then missed Pac-12 media days in 2023 following more blood clot treatment procedures.
