Michigan QB Bryce Underwood Sends 3-Word Message for Ravens’ Fate in 2025

Following his much-talked-about flip and standout recruitment last winter, Michigan Wolverines freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood is making noise with his social media activity. And it comes in the praise for the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens’ defense, whose story with the Super Bowl remains far from over in recent years.

On Friday, the No. 1 overall recruit in the country posted a graphic on his Instagram Story, featuring the Ravens’ “New Look Defense” including cornerstone defensive backs Jaire Alexander, Marlon Humphrey, Nate Wiggins, Kyle Hamilton, and Malaki Starks.

Underwood captioned over the graphic with three words:

    “DIS DA YEAR…”

Bryce Underwood’s Michigan Teammates Getting Behind Him Ahead of 2025 Season

The freshman quarterback arrives at Ann Arbor with heavy expectations. While it’s uncommon for a freshman to start in Week 1 under center, Bryce Underwood is a different breed and he also showed it during winter workouts why he deserved the praise that comes along with his recruitment.

Even on the inside, Underwood is leaving nice impression on coaches and teammates. A source of CBS Sports claimed that Underwood is already commanding the locker room despite being a true freshman.

“He’s a unique and rare guy,” a source told CBS Sports. “He’s been amazing. Awesome human being. Puts in a ton of work. Already commands a room, even with as young as he is. Has a goal to learn everybody’s name in the building and gives the janitor the same respect that he gives the head coach. As a leader, he just gets it.”

Ahead of Michigan’s season opener against New Mexico, Underwood’s field vision, quick release and passing accuracy has been well received in Ann Arbor during spring and summer practices.

Backing up Underwood in the Michigan quarterback room are experienced transfers: Fresno State’s Mikey Keene and East Carolina’s Jake Garcia. Head coach Sherron Moore acknowledged during an interview that Underwood himself wanted to compete for the QB1.

“Just wanna make sure you have enough guys in the room to push each other, and Bryce wanted it,” Moore said. “Bryce, a big thing when we were recruiting Bryce is, ‘who’s gonna push me? Who’s gonna make me better?’ All his life, he’s been pushed to make better. He doesn’t wanna be given anything, so that was huge for us.”

It remains to be seen if Michigan can get back to College Football Playoff with Bryce Underwood leading them in 2025.
