The Auburn Tigers are looking to finally start contending again in the SEC after winning 10+ games just once in the last 11 seasons. One of the team’s keys to doing just that could be star wide receiver Cam Coleman, who is still being overlooked by many.

Cam Coleman Primed For Big Year
On3 college football analyst Ari Wasserman recently shared his take on Coleman and why he thinks he might be the most underrated player in the country heading into this season (via “Andy & Ari”):
“(Cam Coleman is) another player who was incredibly productive despite the fact that he played on a team that didn’t have competent quarterback play. This is another person that could most certainly be selected in the future in the first round.”

Wasserman also noted how if a player like Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith were on Auburn, fans would take the team more seriously because he is such a big-name player.
As a freshman at Auburn last season, Coleman showed off his skills in a big way, recording 37 receptions for 598 yards (16.2 yards per reception) and eight touchdowns. His 6’3″ frame is a big reason why he can make contested catches and create space down the field.
After playing with a somewhat inconsistent quarterback in Payton Thorne last season, Coleman could be set to play with a better signal-caller in Jackson Darnold.
What Can Auburn Accomplish in 2025?
The Tigers have a chance to have a much better season this year than the previous two seasons under head coach Hugh Freeze.
This is the case because Freeze cannot afford to post another losing season at his current post, plus the addition of Arnold at quarterback should help out, too. Arnold, a former Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Georgia, has the chance to form a solid connection with a big-time wide receiver such as Coleman.
The former Oklahoma quarterback threw for 1,421 yards and 12 touchdowns while rushing for 444 yards and three scores for the Sooners last year.
Look for the Tigers to win at least seven games this year, given the fact that they face lower-level teams in Ball State, South Alabama, and Mercer, while getting to face beatable teams on the road in Arkansas, Vanderbilt, and Oklahoma.
The Tigers also get to host the Iron Bowl this season, which could be key at the end of the SEC schedule.

Auburn fans should have reason to believe in their team this year, especially because of players like Coleman and Arnold on offense.
