The Clemson Tigers could be on the verge of adding some more ammunition to their defensive line.
They are set to host a coveted four-star edge-rusher on his official visit near the end of this month.

The North Carolina native stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs 235 pounds. He has received a whopping 44 offers from plenty of notable schools, including Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska, and Florida State. But after he seemingly leaned away from signing with the Buckeyes, plenty of schools now have their eye on him.
It will be interesting to see whether or not head coach Dabo Swinney and the Tigers can find a way to acquire his services. After finishing 69th in the FBS in total defense last season, the Tigers could use some help down the road.
This is How Clemson Operates
When it comes to building a roster, this is how the Tigers go about their business. Swinney likes to build his roster up on the recruiting trail as opposed to utilizing the transfer portal.
In all honesty, this strategy has served the team very well over the years. Since 2008, when Swinney took over as head coach, the Tigers have had 13 10-win seasons. They also have won seven conference titles and multiple national titles.
Heading into the 2025 season, the Tigers are riding high off yet another College Football Playoff appearance. The addition of new defensive coordinator Tom Allen should help bolster that side of the ball, seeing as Allen led Penn State to a No. 7 ranking in total defense among all FBS teams last season.
Adding a star-studded pass-rusher like Griffin-Hayes could add another element to this Tigers defense. A fierce pass-rush can completely change any game in college football, or at any level of football for that matter. Just ask the Philadelphia Eagles.

Time will tell if Swinney and Co. can find a way to ink Griffin-Hayes to a recruiting deal. Perhaps the future of the Tigers’ defense will depend on it.
