When the world thinks of Texas football in 2025, the first name that comes to mind is Arch Manning. But Manning has a big problem, and one that he simply cannot fix. The offensive line he’ll be standing behind is getting a full makeover. The Texas star tackles, Kelvin Banks Jr. and Cam Williams, are off to the NFL, and the longtime center, Jake Majors, and left guard Hayden Conner are out of eligibility. DJ Campbell remains, but he could transfer.
That leaves the offensive line coach, Kyle Flood, with a puzzle that he has to solve before the Longhorns face Ohio State on August 30. One piece of that puzzle could be the offensive line player who is drawing comparisons to Trevor Goosby. The 6-foot-7 redshirt freshman was a game changer for the Longhorns, and now, Texas might be eyeing another Goosby-esque giant to anchor the future.

Experts Suggest Texas Should Be Eyeing 6’8” Offensive Line Freak Drawing Trevor Goosby Comparisons
The Goosby-esque player is none other than Grayson McKeogh. He is a 6-foot-8, 285-pound high school junior who just picked up a Texas offer this week. And according to recruiting insider Gerry Hamilton on the On Texas Football podcast, McKeogh is a name Longhorn fans need to remember.

As Hamilton puts it, “He was 6’7”, 240 last year and now he’s a little over 6’7” and 280 pounds—maybe 285. His junior tape is really good.” But what really caught the world’s attention is the fact that Hamilton went all-in on the comparison to Trevor Goosby.
As Hamilton puts it, “There’s some Trevor Goosby comparisons here from a frame standpoint. Goosby was a late developer, and once he got to college, he added 55–60 pounds. I think you see something very similar with Grayson McKeogh.” And for a program that thrives on long-term offensive line projects with upside, McKeogh fits the mold perfectly.
Interestingly, Grayson McKeogh doesn’t come with the 30-plus offer list that one would expect for a player of his size and potential. But his quality speaks volumes. McKeogh has offers from schools like Notre Dame, Penn State, Boston College, and Wisconsin. In fact, he’s already set dates with Notre Dame and Penn State, two programs known for developing elite linemen from the Northeast.
Grayson McKeogh may only have 16 or 17 offers, but they’re from serious programs who know how to evaluate offensive line talent, and that’s what makes him a hidden gem. He also has offers from Rutgers, Northwestern, Ohio State, Alabama, Ole Miss, Syracuse, and more. Clearly, he is wanted all over the country.
The La Salle High School player is already ranked as the 22nd-best offensive lineman and No. 6 prospect in Pennsylvania for the class of 2026. As his recruiting heats up, Texas made a bold move by jumping into the mix with an offer on May 19. They’re clearly hoping he’ll become a cornerstone in what’s shaping up to be a stacked 2026 class alongside Dia Bell, Jermaine Bishop Jr., Chris Stewart, Max Wright, and Hayward Howard Jr.

Still, getting Grayson McKeogh to Austin won’t be easy. His top visits are currently set with Penn State and Duke. The competition is very real. But the Longhorns have made their interest loud and clear, and if they can sell the vision of being the next Goosby, they might just have a shot.
