USC DL Jahkeem Stewart Donates $10K to Edna Karr High School, Shares Emotional Message After Graduation Surprise

On Friday, May 16, during his graduation ceremony from Edna Karr High School, instead of ending with just words of appreciation, new USC recruit Jahkeem Stewart left the school with a donation of $10,000 to his high school football program. With his Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals already paying off with the Trojans, he is making use of them generously.

Jahkeem Stewart’s $10K Donation Reflects Gratitude, Growth, and a Legacy Beyond the Field

During the graduation ceremony, Stewart congratulated his fellow graduates and thanked his coaches and teachers. After this, he revealed his donation to Edna Karr High School’s athletic recovery program, allowing them to upgrade the school’s facilities.

“I would like to give thanks to Coach Brice [Brown], Dr. Washington, and with that being said, I would like to donate $10,000 to the football facilities,” Stewart announced.

As beautiful and surprising as the donation was, this is not his first act of generosity. He surprised his mom with a Jeep Wrangler in February this year.

After the donation, Stewart shared more about his gesture on his Instagram account, implying that his donation is more than an act of kindness — it comes from a place of gratitude for how far he has come.

“If you knew half of my story you’ll understand how much this means to me 🙏🏻💯”

After playing with St. Augustine during his sophomore year, Jahkeem Stewart transferred to Edna Karr High School, where he could not play and had to reclassify due to ineligibility rules. His decision to reclassify meant that his high school football career ended a year earlier than it should have.

He became the No. 11 overall player in ESPN’s 2025 recruiting rankings, the No. 1 player in the state of Louisiana, and a five-star prospect. His status and talents — in terms of his relentless playing style, grit, hard work, and physicality — made him an outstanding high school player and earned him offers from schools like Ohio State, USC, and LSU.

In December 2024, he announced his commitment to the USC Trojans over other teams and now plays as a defensive lineman for the team.

With NIL deals worth nearly $1 million, he is making a strong impact both at home and away.

Stewart has left an impact that will forever remain in the hearts of everyone at Edna Karr High School. He has made a name for himself and his new team and has drawn the attention of fans and football-savvy individuals alike. There will undoubtedly be more NIL opportunities ahead for him.
