CFB Analyst Jokes He’s Betting 2026 Rent on Oklahoma Hitting Its Win Total Over

The Oklahoma Sooners made some big-time moves this offseason, bringing in four-star transfer quarterback John Mateer from Washington State, grabbing him numerous weapons, and retaining a lot of their top talent.

Heading into 2025, the Sooners should be a competitive SEC team, but aren’t projected to be too good as their win total is set a 6.5 by Vegas right now. On3’s college football analyst JD Pickett seems to think that the line is too low and is ready to wager a hefty amount on the Sooners going over next season.

Analyst Confident in Sooners’ Over 6.5 Wins

In a hilarious X post, JD Pickett said, “Just called my wife to let her know I put our entire 2026 rent on the Oklahoma over.”

While I don’t advise anyone to put their rent on anything, I do agree with Pickett that the Oklahoma win total over seems like a pretty safe bet.

As I previously mentioned, Oklahoma had a great offseason in terms of roster retention and talent acquisition. John Mateer should fix their quarterback problem from a year ago, and they replaced running back Gavin Sawchuck with former Cal star Jadyn Ott.

They were also able to keep five-star David Stone, the 17th-best player in the class of 2024. Stone briefly entered the transfer portal before committing back to the Sooners.

In addition, Oklahoma has a pretty light schedule next season. Out of conference, they do have to face Michigan (at home), but they also get Kent State, Illinois State, and Temple.

In SEC play, they face Auburn, Ole Miss, Missouri, and LSU in Norman and South Carolina, Alabama, and Tennessee on the road. Of course, they also have the Red River Rivalry in Dallas against Texas.

It’s not the easiest schedule of all time, but with the roster they have, I like their odds to win over six games in 2025.
