Fox has been showing “The Game,” the annual Michigan-Ohio State game, for nearly a decade, and the trend won’t stop in 2025. The network announced this week that the Wolverines and the Buckeyes will renew their rivalry on the network this season. They will face off on November 29 at the historic Michigan Stadium.
The matchup will feature two of college football’s finest as they are the last two national champion teams, after Ohio State lifted the trophy in 2024, the year after Michigan lifted it in 2023. Michigan has won the previous four games in the series that dates back to 1897 and owns a 62-51-6 all-time advantage over Ohio State.

Ohio State may have won the national championship last year, but they were beaten, 13-10, by a 6-5 Michigan football team that was limping into the latter part of the season.
The Wolverines also won the previous three contests but had more on the line. The winner of “The Game” would go on to play in the Big Ten Championship Game, which Michigan did and subsequently won.

The rivalry between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines is one of the fiercest battles in college sports. In fact, there may not be a rivalry that features more deep-seated hatred than this one. The Ohio State-Michigan matchup is so intense that the annual meeting between the two teams is called “The Game.”
The Wolverines, who are set to host this year’s matchup, have won four consecutive games in the rivalry, each seemingly more impressive than the last. The streak began in 2021, when Michigan ended a decade-long winless drought when it battered the Buckeyes 42-27.
In 2022, J.J. McCarthy, now with the Minnesota Vikings, led Michigan into the horseshoe when he threw three touchdowns and ran for another, but it was Donovan Edwards who stole the show.

The then-sophomore running back ran 22 times for 215 yards, including two touchdowns of 75 yards or longer, to help U-M win 45-23. It was the first time Michigan defeated OSU in Columbus in more than 20 years.
Ohio State, along with Texas, is one of the favorites to win it all this year, and this year’s matchup with Michigan could significantly impact the Buckeyes’ aspirations.
