Looking to make a buck on Boise State on Friday night? Fancy San Diego State in a game of football high-stakes? If you’re going to take advantage of the San Diego State vs. Boise State odds, consider some of the following factors before you part with your hard-earned cash.

Historically, these two teams have been evenly matched, with a 4-4 split in the head-to-head record. Home-field advantage isn’t necessarily a real thing for the Aztecs, with Boise State 2-2 on the road during the eight previous matchups between the two. The Broncos won the last matchup between the two teams comfortably, with a 35-13 home win last season.

They enter the game as a favorite, and while it should be a close game, our San Diego State vs. Boise State prediction favors the Broncos. However, it could be tighter than the seven-point spread currently being offered by DraftKings.

With a particularly anemic Aztecs offense bolstered by a strong defense and Boise State equally competent on that side of the ball under former linebacker Andy Avalos, there is real potential for this matchup to come under the 45-point line. San Diego State games have come in under the line in three of their four games so far this season.

There are four Friday college football games to compile your DFS team from in Week 3. If you’re new to DFS, Fanduel Superflex contests require you to select a quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, then a “superflex” that can be any of the above or you can also select a tight end in the superflex spot.

Depending on DFS cost from the four games around the college football Friday night landscape, there might be some value in the San Diego State vs. Boise State picks. While it projects to be a low-scoring game that wouldn’t usually fuel a fantasy football fever dream, earmark two, potentially three, playmakers to add to your lineup from this Mountain-West matchup.

Right now, you can’t go wrong with Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. Although headline back George Holani is on the depth chart this week, he’s missed the last two with injury and Jeanty has been the guy for the Broncos offense. The sophomore back is just shy of 80 fantasy points, with rushing and receiving contributions weaponizing his fantasy football value.

The second player we feel really positive about from a fantasy perspective is Aztec TE Mark Redman. If you’re looking for a value play in the FLEX spot, he could be your guy. The San Diego State standout is a legitimate playmaker and the lynchpin of any Aztecs passing attack. There’s a reason why he’s a top-10 scoring tight end for fantasy purposes so far this fall.

Prediction for San Diego State vs. Boise State

Okay, so we’ve furnished you with the San Diego State vs. Boise State odds and some DFS picks and it’s time to close this thing out with our San Diego State vs. Boise State prediction. A preseason favorite to life the conference crown, can the Broncos bring home a win to Boise or will the Aztecs make the Mountain West their empire in 2023 off the back of a Week 4 win?

Behind quarterback Taylen Green, a conference-leading plethora of playmakers and a defense expected to dominate despite the loss of some key pieces, Boise State came into the season as the favorite to lift the Mountain West crown. After Washington eviscerated their defense, and Green saw some early season struggles, it’s fair to say they’re not the complete package yet.

Meanwhile, San Diego State has begun 2023 much the same way that they finished 2022. Other than their 36-point explosion against FCS outfit Idaho State, they’ve struggled to put points on the board. Brady Hoke’s team rank 10th out of 12 in the Mountain West for passing offense and second to last for scoring offense through Week 3 of the season.

Their defense can be stout against similar competition levels, but they were exposed on the ground in their defeats to UCLA and Oregon State, allowing an average of over 200 yards per game against the run. The presence of Holani (potentially), Jeanty, and freshman Jambres Dubar should prove too much for the Aztecs as the Broncos open their Mountain West account with a win.

Prediction: San Diego State 21, Boise State 23
