Former FCS star and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets standout Abdul Janneh is entering the transfer portal. The 6’3 receiver has one year left of eligibility and will be a target for teams looking to add to their receiver room. Where are some potential landing spots for Janneh in the college football transfer portal?
Where Will Abdul Janneh Transfer?
Janneh is regarded as one of the better blocking receivers in the country and a special team ace. He totaled big numbers at Duquesne from 2021-2023 and made an impact for Georgia Tech in his two seasons there.
Janneh was a captain at Georgia Tech and played a big role for the Yellow Jackets in their seven-win campaign. His impact is much greater than what the box score numbers show, and he is regarded as a very strong leader, making him a coveted portal recruit for one of these five teams.
Appalachian State Mountaineers
The Appalachian State Mountaineers are looking to add talent to their offense with their new head coach Dowell Loggains. They recently hired Allen Mogridge to their staff who was with Janneh at Georgia Tech.
Appalachian State also showed interest in Janneh in the past and could definitely look to bring the standout wide receiver in to be a part of their new-look offense.
Miami Hurricanes
After a 10-win season, Miami has seen a lot of their top offensive players declare for the NFL Draft. The Hurricanes have already made a splash in the portal by adding star QB Carson Beck and could look to bring in some weapons to build their offense back up.

Miami knows a lot about Janneh and his hard-nosed style after seeing him firsthand in each of the past two seasons. Janneh could stay in the ACC and give Miami a much-needed boost to their receiver room.
Pittsburgh Panthers
Janneh can land close to home and use his final year of eligibility with the Pittsburgh Panthers. The Pennsylvania native would be a boost for the young Panthers receiving room. Pitt is coming off an up-and-down year but saw strong flashes from young QB Eli Holstein. This could make Pitt an attractive landing spot for Janneh, and he would fit in well in Pat Narduzzi’s offense.
UCF Knights
Under Scott Frost, the UCF Knights are known as a hard-nosed rushing team. They value physical receivers, and Janneh is just that. His blocking ability and strength at the catch point are things that UFC looks for in receivers.
Janneh received an offer from UCF in 2022. He would fit in very well, and given there has been interest from UCF in the past, this would be a logical landing spot and would make sense for both sides.
Penn State Nittany Lions
The Penn State Nittany Lions are returning some of their veterans to make another championship run in the 2025 season. They could look to add Janneh to this group. He would be a good fit in the Big Ten due to his physicality and could have a major role as a run blocker on the outside for the Nittany Lions rushing attack.
Janneh also has some playmaking ability, as he has shown flashes of being a big target down the field. His skill set could pair well with the big-armed Drew Allar as Penn State looks to add to their receiver room for next season.
