The fifth and final journeyman in college football comes to us as a former Northwestern quarterback. Mike Wright, who was a three-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class, signed with Vanderbilt after flipping from UCF. He started 11 games over his first two seasons, including Vanderbilt’s only two SEC wins over that stretch.
burst onto the scene in the 2021 season when he rushed for 961 yards and 16 touchdowns during his true freshman season at Houston. The former three-star prospect was named AAC rookie of the year. However, things haven’t been the same for him since he tore his ACL in spring practice, forcing him to miss all of 2022.
Fegans was a top-150 prospect in the 2022 recruiting cycle. He signed with Alabama but didn’t play a snap during his freshman season. He transferred to USC for the 2023 season, where he would play sparingly. Fegans once again tested the portal waters.
The second player who’s lived in the transfer portal for the better part of four years is Jake Garcia. Garcia was a highly coveted recruit who ranked in the top 50 in the 2021 recruiting cycle. He gained notoriety for attending five different high schools, and that has since followed him to college.
Amos is looking for his fifth college after being a three-star prospect in 2020. He’s about to embark upon his sixth college season and is now entering his fourth trip to the transfer portal.
