Florida State and Clemson have combined for 12 of the past 13 league titles in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
While it isn’t a shock to see those teams are the top-two preseason favorites to win the conference title in 2024, it might be a surprise to see who is the team with the largest percentage of bets made to claim the title of ACC Champions.
Updated 2024 ACC Betting Odds
Despite a title drought that has reached 43 seasons entering the year, 30% of the bets at Bet MGM are on the NC State Wolfpack to win the ACC at +700.
That matches its shortest preseason odds to win the conference title since the league began playing a championship game in 2005. They were also at +700 to win the ACC in 2022 before a disappointing 8-5 season in which they finished 4-4 in conference play.
Shortest Odds To Win ACC This Season (Source: Bet MGM)

- Miami (FL) — +450

Just how long has it been since NC State won the ACC?
Well, despite this recent string of dominance by the Seminoles and Tigers, eight additional schools have claimed at least a share of the ACC title since the Wolfpack did so most recently in 1979 under head coach Bo Rein.
Current head coach Dave Doeren, who is entering his 12th season leading the Wolfpack football team, was only seven years old when the 1979 season began.
Excluding its newest members, NC State and Syracuse — who joined the conference in 2013 — are the only teams yet to appear in the ACC Championship Game entering 2024.
The Wolfpack have finished the season ranked in the College Football Playoff Rankings in each of the past four seasons, raising expectations for the upcoming season. Doeren is the all-time winningest coach in program history with an 81-58 overall record to complement a 23-11 record in ACC play over the last four seasons.
Bettors have started to take notice this might be the year for the Pack rise after closing the 2023 regular season with five straight wins. But will the momentum carry into 2024?
