    2024-2025 College Football Playoff Schedule

    With more playoff games than ever before, ESPN has turned the New Year’s Six bowl games into the CFP quarterfinals and semifinals. Additionally, the 2024-2025 National Championship Game will take place on January 20, 2025, the latest the contest has been played in the CFP and BCS eras.

    The new 12-team format includes the five highest-ranked conference champions, which will receive automatic bids, and the next seven highest-ranked programs. The top four teams will receive a first-round bye to the quarterfinals.

    • Indiana vs. Notre Dame | Friday, Dec. 20, 8 p.m. | ABC & ESPN
    • SMU vs. Penn State | Saturday, Dec. 21, Noon | TNT

    Quarterfinal

    CFP National Championship

    ESPN has been the exclusive home of the CFP since it was created in 2015. In March of this year, the media giant agreed to a six-year, $7.8 billion contract extension that will keep it as the exclusive rights holder to the CFP through the 2031–32 season.

    Just a couple of months later, ESPN announced a five-year agreement with TNT to sublicense select CFP games, beginning with two first-round bouts this season.
