These two teams have only met twice all time and just once since the turn of the millennium. Splitting the series 1-1, the Crimson Tide cruised to a 35-17 victory the last time they met. With that fixture being held on neutral ground (in Arlington, TX), Alabama has actually never beaten Wisconsin in Madison.
However, historical precedent should be thrown out the window for this matchup. There’s a reason why DeBoer’s team is a 16-point favorite over their Big Ten opponent. Alabama currently has the seventh-ranked scoring offense in the country, averaging a monumental 52.5 points per game. QB Jalen Milroe is one of just seven passers with more than 10 yards per pass attempt and no interceptions.

While Wisconsin usually offers a stern defensive test for any opponent, the Badgers have allowed double-digit points to both their opponents so far this season. Alabama poses a much more dangerous threat than Western Michigan or South Dakota. Offensively, the Tyler Van Dyke experience has the Badgers ranked 87th in the nation for points scored (27.5 per game).
Alabama has undergone seismic change this offseason following the retirement of legendary head coach Nick Saban, and that extends to the broadcast booth.
